EXMORTEM Add Second Guitarist, Enlist Session Bassist
June 25, 2005EXMORTEM guitarist Martin "Sigtyr" Thim recently gave Denmark's Antenna webzine a brief update on the band's current activities:
"Latest news is that we've gone through a small line-up change, causing our bass player to become our second guitarist, and we're thus working with a new session bass player. The reason is that we want to put increased focus on our sound in live situations, as some parts from the previous album were slightly absent when played live, but our material moreover demands a second guitarist. Besides the castling, we're working on new material, and we're booking a few shows in autumn; and we're likewise arranging a tour to be launched next year as well. This year won't be overly busy regarding touring schedules since we're quite occupied with 'personal issues'. We're more than happy to be signed to Earache Records, and the results are significant. EXMORTEM have a proper U.S. release... we obviously had our previous album, 'Berzerker Legions', re-released in the U.S. by Unique Leader, but this time we're talking a worldwide deal."
EXMORTEM's latest album, "Nihilistic Contentment", was released in January via Earache/Wicked World Records. The CD was recorded over a four-week period at Antfarm Studio in Aarhus, Denmark with producer Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, HATESPHERE, MNEMIC).
EXMORTEM were previously signed to France's Osmose Productions and Holland's Hammerheart Records.
